Wounded Iraq and Afghanistan Vets Enjoy a Weekend in New York

Troops from Iraq and Afghanistan have come up from the Walter Reed Army Hospital in D.C. to visit New York City for the weekend. They're taking a break from their medical therapy and exploring the city with their family and friends.

REPORTER: Wheelchair-bound soldier A.J. Traeger is visiting New York for the first time with his four kids. He says he's enjoying his time back, despite his injuries and painful recovery.

TRAEGER: My family and me, were bonding more. You know I'm doing alright. I'm trying the best I can. We're just gonna keep going on but we're a military family, we press on, we go forward.

REPORTER: The non-profit organization HAI, formerly known Hospital Audiences, Incorporated, is hosting what it calls a "Weekend for Heroes" in the city. The weekend includes breakfast on a luxury yacht on the Hudson and a visit to the observation deck at the top of Rockefeller Center.
