Bid the summer farewell with a night of comedy, food, wine and chocolate.

Helping us kick off a new season of First Friday parties in The Greene Space is Leighann Lord, a New York City native who's performed comedy worldwide. Her stand-up style is not urban; it's urbane. Leighann was voted "The Most Thought-Provoking Black Female Comic," at the fourth annual NYC Black Comedy Awards, and has appeared on The View, Lifetime's Girls' Night Out, Def Comedy Jam All-Stars and Comedy Central's Premium Brand. Maya Azucena will MC.

Sharing the mic with her that Friday will be your fellow partygoers--it's Open Mic Night at The Greene Space. Sign-up for the Open Mic begins at 7:30 pm in The Greene Space lobby at 44 Charlton Street. Participation is based on first- come, first-served. The performance should be no longer than 5 minutes; performers who exceed this time will be cut off. We will try to accommodate approximately 10-12 performers. All acts must be acoustic; one mic and a piano will be available.

And making the evening even more divine will be chocolate samples courtesy of Divine Chocolate, a company co-owned by cocoa farmers in Ghana.
